I just got back from something that completely rearranged my reality – and I had to share it with you because it’s such a perfect example of what happens when we live in flow and stay open to non-linear magic.
So here’s what happened. My dear friend mentioned he was heading to Chicago for a conference on near-death experiences less than 7 days from when it actually happened. My logical brain immediately started its usual dance: “You have appointments scheduled. You’ll have to re-arrange everything. Cash flow is uncertain. Why would you even want to go?” But underneath all that noise, something was lighting me up. I suspected I’d had three NDEs myself – one recently from viral meningitis – and my soul was practically vibrating with a YES.
This is where it gets good. I said yes anyway.
That single decision to follow my most expansive, inspired path instead of playing it safe? It reminded me of going to London, UK for the first time.
It’s going to change the trajectory of my life for years to come. And here’s why…
First: I followed the inspired breadcrumbs
Instead of being the person frantically taking notes and strategically planning which workshops to attend (there were 12 per day!), I let the right people come to me at the right time. I only made it to four workshops over four days. FOUR. But in those hallways, in those spontaneous moments, I met the most extraordinary souls.
One conversation with a man about how his NDE helped him complete a relationship turned into deep clarity about his path forward. Another with an “angel whisperer.” I took a pic with Dr. Raymond Moody, and Dr. Diane of the Telepathy Tapes. And then there was this couple – I just know they’re going to change my life in ways I can’t even see yet.
Second: I got curious instead of trying to ‘look good’ or have it together
You know what happened when I started asking questions of everyone – even my Lyft drivers? I met this incredible autistic young woman who was driving me around, right after I’d listened to a speaker who created something called the Telepathy Tapes. (Seriously, go listen if you haven’t.) That curiosity led me to a book signing where I ended up meeting Dr. Raymond Moody – who’s now going to be on an upcoming Thriving Life show! The woman who created the Telepathy Tapes will be on too.
All of this magic showed up because I chose mystery over certainty.
The air at the conference was activating and different
Being around people who’ve had near-death experiences is incredibly affirming. They carry this same energy I feel – this deep knowing that when you’ve touched the other side, death becomes… well, no big deal. NDEs are NBD. (I couldn’t resist!)
But here’s the real gold: NDEs give you a perspective that leaves you in a state of peace. And that peace? It changes how you live. It changes the decisions you make. It changes everything.

So the next time you’re standing at the edge of a non-linear choice – the one that makes your soul light up but doesn’t make logical sense – remember this: When you make the decisions that most rational people would make, you get a predictable life. You’ll know what’s coming, but you’ll never experience the magic.
If you want to change your world (or THE world), you have to make decisions that light you up, even when they seem crazy. My dad did that a lot. He built bridges to new worlds. He was a pioneer.
Aren’t we looking for pioneers right now?
The universe is always conspiring to support us when we say yes to our highest expansion. But we have to be willing to step into the unknown, to follow the breadcrumbs of our deepest inspiration, and to trust that the magic is always there – waiting for us to get curious enough to find it.
