“You can go kicking and screaming or you can just GO on the journey of your heart’s calling. The calling has no judgement about whether you suffer or not… the resistence is your choice.”
– Jennifer Hough
If you’ve been feeling like everything’s a lot lately… you’re not wrong.
From groggy naps to wild emotional swells… from achey joints to feeling like the world flipped upside down (again)… you are in it.
But here’s the most important thing I want you to know:
You are not broken. You never were.
In fact, what’s happening now?
It’s not chaos. It’s clear-out.
It’s not breakdown. It’s breakthrough.
It’s not that you’re off-track — it’s that you’re in the middle of your next great Becoming.
So let’s talk about some of the most powerful tools for this phase of our evolution…
When Things Come Up to Leave
There’s this juicy little phrase we use around here:
“Things are coming up to leave.”
This isn’t the same as coming up to be analyzed, healed, fixed, or over-processed. (Phew, right?)
These days, most of the ‘stuff’ that surfaces — old fears, weird reactions, emotional flares — isn’t asking for therapy. It’s asking for a wave goodbye.
So what do you do?
Mostly nothing. Honestly… get out of the way!
Focus your attention somewhere else — on the sky, on your art, on dancing like a weirdo in the kitchen. And know that your wiser, metaphysical self knows how to transmute what no longer belongs.
The paradox is this:
The more you try to fix it, the longer it sticks around.
But when you let it pass… it leaves. Sometimes gently. Sometimes with fireworks. But it leaves.
Groggy Naps That Aren’t Just Naps
Let’s talk about those naps that just hit different.
You know the ones — where you lie down for 20 minutes and wake up a couple hours later feeling like you just traveled through a wormhole? Where am I …who am I?
Those are not just naps.
They are integration portals.
In times of deep upgrade, your system literally needs time to install new frequencies and codes …to rewire. Your job? Lie down. Get out of the way. Receive.
Before you close your eyes, whisper this:
“Greater Self, I give you the wheel. Surprise me with what’s next.”
Then let go. Let yourself be given to.
Even your nighttime sleep is moving so much energy now. It’s where the control-loving mind takes a break and your luminous, non-linear self gets to take over.
Joints, Sensitivity & Listening to the Body
Some of us are feeling the aches right now — in the joints, the neck, the hips, the places where we carry our resistance.
As we evolve, the body’s filters are getting more sensitive… and it talks to us, maybe yells once in a while. That’s not a flaw — that’s intelligence. This can help:
-
Drink lots of water with minerals like ReMyte.
-
Ease up on sugar, dairy, wheat (yes, even the baguette).
-
Load up on your greens.
-
Move gently and lovingly.
This is not about restriction — it’s about honoring the body that’s carrying your light forward. You’re changing, evolving faster than ever. And your body is part of this conversation.
When You’re Feeling Lost (But Aren’t)
Let’s clear something up:
Feeling lost is not the same as being lost.
Feeling lost often means your inner GPS is updating. It’s the emotional residue of clinging to old paradigms that are dissolving — ideas like:
“I should know what’s next.”
“My purpose should be clear by now.”
“Everyone else seems to have it together…”
Oh man, we made those ideas up. And hey, you may feel a little unfamiliar with the new you.
Your purpose is not a job title. It’s not a 10-year plan. It’s who you’re choosing to be today. It’s who you’re becoming in the not-knowing.
What if your new way of being is living hour by hour with presence and curiosity… and letting the map draw itself as you walk?
A Little Story About Forests, Helicopters, and Serendipity
Recently, I interviewed Nigel Seale (founder of Earth Day Canada) about a time he supported brave activists saving an old-growth forest at Fairy Creek. He never met the tree climbers — just helped behind the scenes, even arranging helicopter food drops.
The very next day, I met a young man on Salt Spring Island — tall, kind, a climber, a photographer. Turns out? He was one of those tree climbers.
He never knew who kept him fed. Nigel never knew who received the support.
So I brought them together, as Nigel was literally only 20’ away …what?!
There, on a grassy path, decades and destinies converged. They hugged. They cried. It was a reunion of purpose — unplanned, unexpected, totally perfect.
And it only happened because I had stepped away from the busy, the routine, and into spaciousness.
When we stop gripping so tightly, Life brings us miracles. Not because we forced them — but because we became available to them.
One Last Thing…
I’ve been on the road these past few weeks — taking space, saying yes to the unknown, letting life move me instead of the other way around.
And I gotta tell you…
The more I surrender, the more life rushes in to carry me.
The more I rest, the more clarity I receive.
The more I receive the mystery, the more magic walks in.
So here’s my question to you:
What’s presenting for you to do to find your flow?
Are you open to these kinds of serendipitous blessings?
What’s waiting to be received—if you just make yourself available to all that’s waiting for you?
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about saying yes to what’s real. And you’re doing it.
Big, cosmic, goosebumpy love,
Jen
