I’ve been feeling “funny” lately…

“This is not the time to give your power away
to politics to economics or to money.
It’s also not the time to give your power away to sides.
It is the time to forward and focus on the kind of world you want
to create by who you are every day.

I’ve been feeling funny lately… how about you?

Interestingly, many sensitive individuals I know, and even some who don’t consider themselves sensitive, have shared with me that they’ve been feeling a bit off lately. It’s like there’s something in the air, but they can’t quite identify it. This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way; I also experienced it after the big solar eclipse in April.

Often, the things that affect me aren’t as obvious as arguments with my partner or the neighbor cutting down trees. Consider that the changes in our world, the wars, conspiracy theories, and the pervasive fear create an environment of unrest. Even if you didn’t watch the debate in the United States, and even if politics isn’t your concern, I assure you, it’s impacting the collective human environment.

Why? Because we live in a quantum soup, surrounded by friends and family with varying levels of awareness and consciousness. There are different levels of empowerment and stability when the metaphorical trees are shaken around us. A significant country perceived as a leader of the free world faced a choice between an 82-year-old man in physical decline and a 78-year-old man with questionable motives and a highly reactive temperament. Different people will have different opinions, but my point is that this crucial nation seems to have incredibly unstable options, causing fear not just in the United States but globally.

Now is not the time to surrender your power to politics, economics, or money. Nor is it the time to pick sides. It’s time to focus on the kind of world you want to create by how you show up every day. How do you engage with your fellow humans? Are you waiting for the system to fix itself?

It’s time for all of us to lead in our communities, to lead with heart. It doesn’t matter if youre religious, atheist, simply spiritual, corporate, an entrepreneur, a stay-at-home mom, black, white, gay, or straight. If youre waiting for something to change, youre part of the problem. If youre being the example of the world you want to see, then youre part of the solution. #MovementOfOne

If you don’t want to be afraid or live in uncertainty, then be the one. That was the entire point of the TEDTalk I just gave. Youre not alone. The tools exist to empower you no matter how the systems seem to be breaking down. The current systems in education, healthcare, economics, banking, and politics are unsustainable. But together, we, the average people, have the power to create what we desire. There are 8 billion of us, most of whom love meeting strangers, sharing cultures, and loving their neighbors.

The laws of physics, fractal math, and some of the most brilliant minds continue to show us that change is possible. But it starts with you. It doesn’t start with them or leaders outside of you.

When you wake up in the morning, ask yourself, “What is the greatest thing I can do with the skills I already have to leave the world a better place today?” Then go and do that thing, no matter how small. Do it multiple times, to as many people as you meet.

The choice is clear: either feel like a victim of those to whom we’ve given power through our belief that they have it, or take action yourself. I love my neighbors, who come from every walk of life. Right now, I’m going to give three of them slices of my giant watermelon. That’s my answer to the question for this hour. I’ll see what comes up next hour.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

With love and an open heart,

Jennifer xoxo
