“When you embody an actual shift in the way you approach life, you’re actually relinquishing hundreds of beliefs at a time such that you don’t even feel confined by the belief systems that you’ve had.”
– Jennifer Hough

Almost everyone I know thinks that abundance is about having money, more than enough, and having the things and people that you like around you. I did too, for years! Well… until I was in enough pain and frustration to finally get the shift.

Here it is, the definition that changed my life: abundance, opulence, really, is the ability to have what you need, when you need it. Not what you want. What your soul, your journey, your project actually needs, exactly when it needs it.

Just stay with me here.

Let’s make three assumptions. One: consciousness exists in flow, and you are part of that flow. Two: we are always heading into a more expansive flow, because life creates upon itself. Three: everything is happening for you.

Now, if all three of those are true, how could what you need possibly not be happening? Whether you like it is a completely different question. But if you knew, bone-deep, that it was exactly what was required… of course you are never, not ever, not abundant. It’s simply not possible.

Your personality may not like it, though. I woke up with a headache this morning and my personality was not thrilled. But that headache was a redirect, a very direct message about the pressure I was putting on myself. That IS abundance. Not the absence of headaches. The presence of a system that is always, always showing you the way back.

Never mind what is going on in the world right now. What if that is part of our abundance? A giant wake up call? A redirect?

We are supported and shown, constantly, whether it looks like a headache, a delay, a door slamming shut, or a stranger tapping you on the shoulder at exactly the right moment. Life was never about winning the lottery so you could finally exhale into peace. It’s about creating, and being in enough presence, that you’re available to actually see the gifts at every single turn. Most of them are hiding in plain sight, disguised as inconvenience.

Chew on it. Then tell me, what’s showing up today that you’ve been calling a problem, that might actually be exactly what you need?

With love,
Jennifer
