Here’s a confession: I almost missed a powerful moment because I was annoyed about my seat on the plane.
I was flying to Oregon to speak at a conference, and there were two empty seats right next to me… except, I’d been put next to a very large man instead, and at 5 ’10”, I was hoping for a little room. I was about to get up to move into that empty row beside us. Before I could, the flight attendant gave it to someone else.
Highly suboptimal. Or so I judged it at the moment.
So, I stayed put, and I started talking to him. He turned out to be a lovely human… covered in tattoos of the following: Grace. Hope. Love. Mary. A rose as Mary Magdalene symbolism.
I remember thinking, ‘What is going on here?’. My friend Natalie came to pick me up from the airport and he even had fun talking to her as we were picking up our bags.
A day later, it landed in my awareness. Natalie and I started talking about an idea I’d started writing years ago using the wisdom of the Mystery Schools, the feminine principles, Mary Magdalene’s lineage, to teach leaders how to run a business in a fluid way instead of a linear, masculine one. And then… roses were showing up everywhere. The Rosicrucians showed up in our research. The exact words from his tattoos started showing up in our language. Massive momentum, out of nowhere.
And then I thought to myself “Hey, wait a second… What if all so-called ‘negative’ things are simply guidance? And what if the ‘suboptimal’ experience then sets up the slingshot for the good?
Of course everything can only happen for me! It was so great to see that. I know in my cells there is no ‘negative’ experience… there is only what my personality does not prefer, but my soul would settle for nothing less than this slingshot that I needed.
Here’s what I want you to remember this week: What you call “suboptimal” is just your judgment of it and that judgment is never the whole truth. It’s guidance wearing a disguise.
And the wild part? The very act of softening your judgment, of coming back into alignment instead of arguing with what’s happening… that’s what builds the slingshot. That’s where the miracles get launched from.
