Here’s a paradigm shift for you… We are family!

“The Universe knew exactly who your family would be
before you got here, and that
most of them would not be related to You!

When I was younger, I so wanted to feel like I belonged. I had glasses, acne, was taller than everyone, curly hair, was shy as anything, and I just felt like I wished someone “got” me and saw through the yuck.

Not to mention, I was super curious about physics, because my religion wasn’t giving me answers. Some, but not all. And there were contradictions. In High school, I used to debate spirituality with my Jehovah’s Witness friend, Nora… I still remember her. That was fun for me, since I didn’t fit in with everyone else, much like she didn’t either.

I truly thought I was getting the booby-prize life. The fourth prize. Everyone else who “belonged” was getting the better life. So I would just make do, and make it up as I went. I got straight A’s, not because I was smart, but because I had time.

Little did I know that being sovereign, and fitting “out,” was the key to actually connecting to my greater wisdom sooner than most, because spending my energy trying to figure out social norms to fit in just wasn’t happening. This all led to my having a connection to the Divine, in a way that is not the booby prize. I sure felt like it then, though. Maybe you felt like that? Maybe not. Maybe you were successful at fitting in.

Regardless, I have rarely met anyone in my travels who has not had the feeling of not being seen, understood, or heard.

When times are tense/strained in the world like now, we look for those we feel closest to; feel “seen” by. Often those people are not related to us, as I have found. “Soul family.” (And I adore you, Mom and Dad, so rest easy; and yes, they read my emails.)

Dearest Aditya, God, the Universe, All That Is, Creation knew exactly who your family would be before you got here, and that most of them would not be related to You.

Maybe it’s time to take the pressure off your parents, your siblings, and your guardians to adhere to some “GOD-like” version themselves. Everyone is simply a grown up kid, and if stuff wasn’t worked out in childhood, there is no miracle that happens at 21, when you supposedly become an adult, that makes all that stuff go away. In fact, if you have unproductive coping/protection/control mechanisms, they will only get more well-practiced over time.

We have a lot of expectations.

Our true parent is Creation, which is where we get the silly expectation that fallible humans should be as perfect as Creation is.

So if Creation is your parent and my parent, we are family! Yay!

Because you experienced struggle with those you wished had done better to advise you when you were younger, Creation/theUniverse/God/All That Is sent the answers to those prayers to you in other packages. Look, you’ll see. It came from your friends, good colleagues, great conversion, random earth angels at the airport, and mentors.

For me, being able to shift paradigms so that the whole constellation of associated beliefs about family is super juicy and freeing.

I love having you be with me on the adventure of finding the deeper truths and exploring the spaciousness that creates.

Fear does an interesting thing to our brains

Fear does an interesting thing to our brains.

I was listening to a brilliant podcast a few days ago which my husband reminded me about. Although they didn’t talk about this specifically, it struck me how important it is to understand how our brains work. In understanding this, I’m able to follow my knowing and feel connected to clarity, instead of being manipulated by noise which can only happen if I’m in fear; it’s so easy to be in fear these days, don’t you think?

Fight or flight creates an interesting shift in the brain causing us to relate to those who disagree with our viewpoint as the “other”, and there are those who want to manipulate others in order to protect themselves.

The key to thriving is…

A key to thriving is remembering that doing this is actually important.

It’s ‘nothing’.

That’s the thing, doing nothing is doing something.I’m sure you’ve sometimes tried to keep pushing through a project when life is showing you the harder and longer you push, the more unproductive things get, right?

I’m so guilty of feeling invincible or, put another way, stubbornly carrying on instead of being present to what life is showing, or sometimes commanding, me to do.

I always thought that I had to find the right person…

I know I’ve shared this before, but I think it’s worth revisiting. Thinking about my journey, I regret none of my previous relationships. Studying the laws of physics has given me so much clarity around my time with dear partners from the past.

I always thought I had to find the right person. Nope. Not about that. They find you. And that is based on a few important shifts in thinking that changed my life.

1. LOVE JUST IS – love is in and through everything, available at all times. There’s nothing to create as, if it really is love, then it’s already unconditional. Love that feels conditional is actually more about acceptance or approval.
